What a weekend! Full of pageants Miss France, Miss World, and Miss Universe. And a whole lot of mess with Steve Harvey who this past sunday hosted Miss Universe pageant and named the wrong winner. He announced Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez as the evening’s top winner, but she was really the first runner-up. The actual winner was Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach. Although, I love Steve Harvey and he took responsibility for his actions that is messed up for Miss Columbia! But well Congrats To Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Miss Universe 2015!
Apparently its seems that our Family feud Host, Steve Harvey, made a honest mistake this is what the elimination card looked like! A bit confusing isn’t it?!
Another mess when Miss Martinique Morgane Edvige is first runner for Miss France 2016, but the only thing we talk about is her beautiful mane. Apparently in the 21st century it is still shocking for some people to see a gorgeous black woman with her natural hair. And a lot of us believe she got robbed of the Miss France title because of it! All i can see is a BEAUTIFUL and INTELLIGENT woman. The public is the one voting for their contestants and apparently at the beginning of the contest text messages from Martinique were not going through.
I represent France in all all its authenticity […] and the French woman as it should be “
On the other hand Miss Jamaica Sanneta Myrie, becomes the first “Miss World” top 5 contestant with dreadlocks ! She ended up in 3rd position in the Talent competition. Isn’t she gorgeous!!! The first one was actually Miss Martinique 2009 Ingrid Littré , who was in the top 16.
Dr Myrie admits that she rocks her locks in honor of her Jamaican roots. “I lock my hair because I identify with it. I am very much rooted in that Afro-centric nature, where we as Jamaicans are rooted. It’s my expression,” she said in an interview.
Miss Guyana Lisa Punch was in the top 10 of the Miss World Competition. She was the winner of the talent competition, ended up in the top 10 in the “beauty with a purpose”competition, and Top 5 in the multimedia competition.
Miss South Africa Liesl Laurie ended up in the top 10 as well.
Miss Tanzania Lilian Kamazima and Miss Zambia Michelo Malembo were also in top 10 in the “Beauty with a purpose” competition at Miss World.
Miss Namibia Steffi Van Wyk is the winner for the sports category and Miss Seychelles Linne Freminot, whose mother is Cameroonian finished 2nd.
